Kilkenny manager Brian Cody lept with joy as his son Diarmuid helped James Stephen's capture their seventh Féile na nGael Under 14 hurling title at O'Moore Park, Portlaoise today following a last gasp goal from a Michael Drennan free, to ensure a 1-7 to 1-6 final win over Cork side Na Piarsaigh.

There is great news for Laois teams in the Féile na nGael competition this evening, as five clubs from the O'Moore County have reached the Finals. The Harps, St. Paul's, Portlaoise and Clonad are all represented in Sunday's deciders, which take place in O'Moore Park, Portlaoise and Páirc Uí Fhaolain at Portlaoise GAA Club.

The 38th Féile na nGael began in impressive fashion on Friday, with the hosting of the Parade for 200 teams - which ran from O'Moore Park through Portlaoise town on Friday night, under the organisation of Jack Nolan.
GAA President Nickey Brennan, Uachtarán Cumann Camogaíochta na nGael Liz Howard, Handball President Tony Hannon; local T.D.'s Sean Fleming and Olywn Enright, and Portlaoise Mayor Rotimi Adebari; were among the dignatories that watched each of the teams pass the platform in Market Square, with the captain of each side receiving a pennent from the GAA President.
